Gathering molten glass in a crucible (2500 degrees Farenheit)

Melting the coloring into the glass in a kiln. The glass is then returned to the crucible to add a layer of clear glass over the color.

Shaping the inflated glass after elongating the sphere into a cylinder by swinging the pipe.

Filing the hardened, air-cooled glass cylinder to separate it from the pipe.

Rolling the glass in colored powders and chips

Blowing air into the colored glass to form a sphere with a bubble in it.

Final shaping after further reheating

Cutting the cylinder into three pieces after annealing for 24 hours.

End piece sand-blasted. Scope is ready for insertion of bearing, mirrors, lens, and creation of end chamber containing the magic.
